Love the architecture.
The architect, not so much.
Look at the dots, which appear where the framework of the webbing intersects. The morning light was just right to pick up those dots. Spectacular. I took the photo through a screen window so that is the extra grid which appeared when I enlarged the shot before taking the photo.

Inspiration finally strikes
It is not as though I don't have any projects to work on, I just have not been inspired lately. I go up to the second story and just mess around moving things from one work space to another.
Lately I worked on wonky stars
I have also worked on these lovely antique blocks, which I took apart, trimmed and am now sewing back together. I believe the block is the Exquisite block. The fabrics are mostly feed sack, including the white, and is very loosely woven. I believe the red and white stripe may be rayon.
My newest inspiration is making blocks using half-square triangles. I couldn't make just one. Most of the triangles are from scraps from previous projects and friends. I saw this block on quiltdivajulie.blogspot.com and she is calling it Vivacious. I have researched for a block name and cannot find one, so Vivacious it is.
Sewing on the second story. Nan

The Greats are Grand
Having the grandkids over to stay the night is so much fun. They are quite busy and keep us hopping. They require very little entertainment and play together very well.
We fed the fish at the pond. Refilled the bird feeders. Sat in granddad's lap. Discovered Gramma's colored pencils---they loved using the little hand sharpener.
Breakfast next day, pancakes with blueberries and chocolate chips. Their order.

Jumping off the deep end
Every morning, while drinking my coffee, I spend time looking around blogland, mostly quilting blogs. I enjoy seeing what everyone is creating and reading about your creative processes. I have been thinking about testing the waters for a while, so.........I am jumping into the pool.
My blog name has a two-fold meaning. First, my sewing/creating area is located on the second story of our home. It is actually a loft at the back of the great room in our home. The "second" reason for the name is that, although I have a deep fabric stash, I adore working with scraps. My scrap stash is also deep and will probably never be completely organized, there are bags, boxes, and bins, etc. I love digging deep looking for the right scrap for a project.
My scraps come from several sources: my own projects, my friends, my sister, and, yes I have even purchased scraps. What?
I hope you can check in with me occasionally as I share some thoughts, ideas, projects, photos and events of my life.
Welcome. Nan
